How I met Bono

Gillian McMahon introduced me to Bono and I will forever be in her debt! She had known Bono back in Dublin and knew I wanted to meet him, so she made it happen. She even kicked me when I awkwardly froze starstruck to get me to talk to him. Since then I’ve been blessed to have caught up with him again many times and have some extremely interesting conversations… Last time I spoke with him was in LA during the 2006 Grammy Awards. He’s a remarkable man who also happens to have a wicked wit. I absolutely adore him. (The photo is from the very first time I met him March 16, 1992.)

How I met Eddie Vedder

In 1994 I was at a hotel in Cambridge, Mass for a jazz show. He introduced himself to me in the lobby. We shared an elevator ride and chatted in the main lobby for almost an hour. I wasn’t a fan at the time, but became one just because of him, how genuine he was. It’s a special memory.
